Welcome to Week 2!

We're so glad you're going to be joining us at the Summit! We've prepared this guided practice of spiritual disciplines to help you focus your heart and mind on God.

Step 1: Read Scripture

Read Exodus 3:1-12

After reading the passage of scripture...

On a piece of paper, make three columns. At the top of one column write “God,” in the next column write “Moses,” and in the third column write “The Israelites.” Now, re-read the scripture and make a list in each column of the actions of each of the three groups of people.

Answer the following questions. If it's helpful to you, use a journal and keep track of thoughts, ideas, or images that come to your mind as you answer these questions.

  • How do the actions of God differ from the actions of Moses and the Israelites?
  • How is God inviting Moses to be a part of God’s mission?
  • How do you relate to Moses’ interaction with God?

Step 2: Prayer

Dear God, remind me that I am uniquely made by you. Reveal to me by the power of your Holy Spirit the ways you want me to follow Jesus Christ today. Open my eyes to recognize my neighbors that are lonely, hurting, or struggling to experience your love, and give me courage to love my neighbor as you love me. Amen

Step 3: Weekly Challenge

Pick a neighbor (a literal neighbor, your sibling whose bedroom neighbors you, or another person you encounter at work, sports, or church), write down some of the attributes that make this person special and uniquely made in God’s image. Send them an encouraging text, card, or email thanking them for the way they use their gifts to make your life better.
